My Story

When I was starting my final year of my bachelor’s degree at San Diego State, I had no idea the direction I wanted to take with my career. I was getting a degree in Human Resources and aside from understanding employment law and the basics of compensations and benefits, I was in the dark about what it meant to be in the corporate landscape as an HR professional.  During this time, I was working two jobs to afford living and going to school and stumbled upon a paid HR internship at a two-person consulting firm in San Diego.

The CEO was in desperate need of support.  She was doing so well that she couldn’t keep up with the client load. Her organizational mission was creating positive work environments where employees thrive (she started it after working with a bully at her previous job). I spent time with clients uncovering organizational issues, creating strategic plans for change, building systems to solve problems, creating training material and coaching leaders.

What was meant to be a 2-month internship turned out to be a 7-year journey that involved executing a variety of roles in the firm including strategically building the business. Not only was I executing for clients, but I was working directly with the CEO on business development, marketing, sales, operations, and anything to grow and expand – so we can help more people in the world.

I fell so in love with working to advance the business and its employees that I transitioned out of client work to focus solely on operations and organizational development. This love is what inspired me to build a business around helping business owners take the next steps in their own journey.

The Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) claims that in business, there is a visionary and an implementer. In my case, I flip flopped between the two. This makes me especially adept at helping small businesses and solopreneurs think strategically and execute on the “small things”. When it comes to growing your business I’ve done it all, from sales, operations, to finance to business development. And, I can help you get to where you want to go (while also executing the things you don’t want to!).

My experience

As someone who was in a unique position to grow along side a soloprenuer, I played many roles in the organization. In addition, my consulting role offered up new challenges in different dynamics from executing fractional HR work to strategic plan development and coaching.

  • Executed strategic marketing plans based on organizational pain points and current events. Developed blog posts, speaking descriptions, email campaigns, lead magnets and presentations.

  • Executed sales calls, developed proposals, and crafted investments. Continuously revamped the sales process to better qualify leads, customize service offerings and track success.

  • Alongside business coaches and the CEO, created long-term business development strategies including growth plans, reallocation of resources and strategic financial projections.

  • Conducted climate assessments, training development, coaching, HR audits and fractional HR for clients. Act internally as HR Generalist executing hiring, performance management, payroll, benefits administration, etc.

  • Built standard operating procedures from the ground up for HR, Sales, Service, Accounting and more.
